Introduction to Our World in Data
Introduction
Our World in Data offers, as the site name suggests, hundreds of types of data on population, age, economy, politics, energy, gender, diseases, and more by country and year without any charge. It is the best in the world in terms of diversity and volume.
A downside, if it can be considered a downside, is that most data is only provided on an annual basis. Those seeking more detailed monthly, weekly, or daily data should look elsewhere.
It notably provides global data and statistics concerning COVID-19.
Requirements
There are no requirements; downloads are unlimited.
Data Example
By clicking on each chart, one can view a simple visualization similar to the one above. Press the DOWNLOAD button at the bottom of the screen to immediately receive a csv
file. Besides such data, there are rare data sets like the COVID-19 Stringency Index as well. The visualizations are overwhelmingly superior even without downloading the data.
